Greetings all!

It's about time I came up with a new page, so here I go.

The Fire in the title comes from my Fire and EMS background, of which I have a few pages dedicated to. The Ice portion is of my obcession for snowmachining, of which this site is going to be pretty much about; snowmachining in the great state of Alaska! I've thrown in a little about my work on the North Slope, but my true passion is and always will be "sledding". I just love the smell of 2-strokes in the morning :)

We live in Cooper Landing Alaska, which we fondly refer to as "a quaint little drinking village with a fishing problem". The view from our house is of the world famous Kenai Lake and Kenai River, the world's greatest salmon fishery! All around us is world class mountain riding. The "Lost Lakes" area is our backyard, and I believe it is un-surpassed in the world. Here you'll find every type of riding you could ask for. By late spring you'll find upwards of 30' of snow. Totally awesome it is! With a new digital still and video camera, the goal is to come up with plenty of pics to share with you, giving you a true glimpse of "our world".

A couple of additions to the stable that will help out this year are my new ride, a 2002 800 Vertical Edge and my son's 2002 Edge X. Polaris has finally come up with something worthy of an upgrade!!

So please stay tuned, I promise the pics and stories coming up will be well worth the return trip.

A last thought in regards to your winter riding:
It's pretty easy to forget about the dangers that lurk as you're out and about cruising that untouched powder bowl. But I'm here to tell you, shit happens.

I've not only been buried myself in an avalanche, but I've had to find and literally dig out my best friend Odman a day later. And I'm here to tell you, that's the most screwed up thing a person will ever have to go through. Please take the time to visit the page I've dedicated to
"a brother" in his memory.

So please! Get the most avalanche training that you can, get the best gear that you can, and practice with it as much as you can. If or when it happens, every minute counts!!

This page is always under construction.
